Employers in the automotive sector are being invited by tutors at City of Wolverhampton College to help plan the content of future courses to ensure students develop the skills and knowledge the industry requires.
The college is hosting an automotive employer event on Tuesday 25 April to give business owners the opportunity to talk to staff about the qualities they need their employees to have in order to meet customer demand.
Feedback will enable tutors to adapt their learning programmes to ensure students gain the skills employers require and put them ahead of the competition when applying for jobs in the sector.
Employers looking to take on new staff can meet current automotive students who are looking for jobs in the industry, talk to recruitment officers about taking on an apprentice, and find out about the range of automotive courses available to train new staff or upskill existing employees.
Those attending will also be able get details of electric vehicle training programmes and find out about plans for the college’s new technical training centre for electric, hybrid and traditional vehicles which is due to open in 2024.
The employer event takes place at the college’s Wellington Road campus in Bilston, from 6.30pm to 8pm, with free refreshments and parking available on-site – book a place here
