IT Pearson Level 3 Foundation Diploma

To access this course you are required to have:

• Minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including maths, English and one technical subject such as science, IT, graphics, design & technology, etc OR
• Level 2 ICT-related qualification at Merit or Distinction

Year 1

• Creating systems to manage information
• Using social media in business

• Mobile apps development
• Computer games development

Year 2

• Website development
• IT project management
• Cyber security and incident management
• IT technical support and management
• IT service delivery
• Business process modelling tools

Throughout the course you will gain a range of skills including:

• Effective writing skills for websites, programming and reports
• Understanding and analysing data models presented in a variety of ways, including databases and spreadsheets
• Creative development - eg graphic design, games programming, website design
• Understanding of technical text and the language used in the digital world
• Learning independently
• Researching actively and methodically
• Presentation skills using different software 
• Effectuve team work
• Preparation for assessment methods used in degrees.

Successful completion of this course will enable you to progress to:

• IT Level 3 extended diploma
• HNC or HND higher education qualification
• Undergraduate degree, such as computer science, games development, computing or web page design
• Apprenticeship
• Employment in the IT industry
