Whether you have recently left school or want to make a career change this course will prepare you to work in the industry and qualify you to work as an electrician's mate.
You will gain an understanding of the regulations electricians are legally bound to comply with and the scientific principles on which electrical applications are based on. You will also learn the practical skills to enable you to work within the electrotechnical industry.
This course can be studied full-time or part-time over one year.
Also, if you earn less than £30,000 per year and aged 19 or over, you could study this course for FREE!

By studying this course you will gain an understanding of the skills required within the electrotechnical sector. You will cover compulsory aspects such as:
Centres and providers work with local employers who will contribute to the knowledge and delivery of training. Employers will provide demonstrations and talks on the industry and where possible work placements. This practically based training is ideal preparation for gaining employment in the electrotechnical industry or specialist further study.
This is a combination of one assignment and one online or paper based exam. You will be continually assessed throughout the program.
You will also have to show engagement with employers, by attending organised events in college and if possible, work experience which will be documented.
