Are you passionate about the education, development and care of young people?
The BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Early Years Education will help you to develop your knowledge and understanding through hands-on learning in a number of interesting areas including growth and development, food and nutrition, care of children and play, and towards the end of the course you will get the chance to develop your skills further on a short work placement in a local play group.
Studying the course will also introduce you to some of the innovative work being done with children throughout the country and you will also get the chance to visit local parks and play groups and participate in working in the community when helping to support the popular family fun days at Cosford Air Museum.
The course will also help with self-development and developing those all-important employability skills that will help you decide what your career path should be.
As part of the course you will get the chance to upgrade your English and maths skills and tutors will also support you if you wish to progress to the next level of study.

Past students on this course have progressed to higher levels of study at the college and then moved on to further study at university. Once fully qualified, many of our learners have gained employment in the early years' sector in schools, nurseries and many other settings.
Throughout the course you will be supported by fully qualified tutors who will provide training in early Years, observe and assess your performance in each unit, check and mark your work and give you regular feedback.
They will also support you to develop a portfolio of work and put together your CV or personal statement.
To enhance your learning you will also get the chance to hear presentations from guest speakers working in the sector including early years' professionals, health care professionals and employment agencies.
