Teaching & Education Apprenticeships

Offering an apprenticeship is a great way to train staff and for your organisation to benefit from an employee with the latest sector skills and knowledge.

Whether you’re a headteacher in a primary or secondary school needing new staff to support teachers in the classroom, a training provider looking for mentors to support adult learners or an organisation needing to support staff learning in the workplace, an apprenticeship will ensure your employee can perform their job role, whatever areas they work in.

With two apprenticeship programmes on offer – teaching assistant and learning mentor apprentices will learn the necessary skills and knowledge to support learners of all ages and abilities in a range of educational and workplace settings.

Apprentices will combine working for your organisation with studying towards a set of occupational standards set by employers. In the workplace they will learn on-the-job by working alongside existing staff, and be taught by college tutors who have many years of working in the sector themselves.

What’s more, throughout their training, apprentices will be supported by college staff who will work closely with you to ensure that the skills they are learning are what is required by your business and that they will achieve their full potential and career aspirations, and meet your business needs.

The college has a dedicated recruitment team to support employers in appointing an apprentice – including advertising vacancies, screening applicants and shortlisting candidates for interview; and with a talent pool of enthusiastic young people waiting for a business apprenticeship you can be sure you’ll be employing the right person for the job!

And, did you know that apprenticeships aren’t just for new staff? If you want to upskill and develop existing members of your team they can benefit from apprenticeship training too – email employerenquiries@wolvcoll.ac.uk and a member of the team will contact you to discuss your requirements further.
