Alex Jones didn’t want to stay in full time education after finishing his GCSEs, so an apprenticeship seemed ideal.
The 19-year-old, who now works as a technical engineer at John Guest, after completing his polymer apprenticeship there, said: “A Levels and university never took my fancy – I wanted to get paid while I learnt.
“The apprenticeship was great. I was always learning new things and every day was different.
“I’m now qualified in a trade which is great!”
