Employers training their apprentices through City of Wolverhampton College are being given the opportunity to nominate them for a series of awards.
The college has launched its annual Apprenticeship Awards for 2024 featuring awards for Apprentice of the Year in 11 industry categories including automotive, business, engineering and hairdressing.
Employers nominating an apprentice are required to detail what makes them stand out in the workplace, highlight their progress, achievements and outstanding qualities, and provide evidence of how the experience, skills and knowledge they have gained during their apprenticeship has benefited the business.
The awards will also feature an Employer of the Year category, given to the company that best demonstrates how its apprenticeship programme meets its current and future skills requirements, delivers exceptional training and attracts new apprentices to the business.
Award nominations close on Monday, 20 May and winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in the Hayward Suite at Molineux Stadium on Thursday, 11 July to which all nominated apprentices and their employers will be invited.
The college offers over 50 apprenticeship standards in a range of industry areas – from automotive to teaching and education – and is currently training around 600 apprentices working for employers in the West Midlands and beyond.
