“I realised I can do it!” said 40-year-old Rachel Phillips who was offered a job in the care sector after completing a two-week adult social care sector gateway programme.
Rachel said: “My last job was in beauty therapy and I wanted to gain knowledge and experience of the care sector so that I can apply for jobs in this area.
“The course covered health and safety, first aid and food hygiene and at the end I had an interview with an employer and was offered a job!
“The course is amazing as it gives you a qualification and an insight into different jobs, and having a guaranteed interview at the end is a really good as sometimes you can struggle to get one yourself.
“The tutors were really friendly and easy to get on with and I’d say to anyone to join a course like this as it’s an amazing opportunity into work.”
