After working in the hospitality and retail rectors, Edyta became unemployed and heard about the college’s business administration sector gateway programme from her Jobcentre work coach.
The course covers the skills and knowledge needed to work in a business administration role, as well as how to produce a CV, apply for a job, write a covering letter and perform in an interview.
Edyta said: “I found the employability skills and business administration training really useful as it was something I had not done before and it has opened up other employment options for me.”
Just before the end of her course, Edyta went for an interview for the role of licensing officer at the council and was offered the position – she said: “I’m really happy because I really wanted this job!”
